How to Dehydrate Tomatoes « Back

How To Dry Tomatoes

First dip tomatoes into boiling water to remove skin easier. (cut Cherry tomatoes in half, skins don't need to be removed).
Wash and slice tomatoes into 3/8" slices.

Arrange tomatoes on your food dehydrator trays, make sure the tomato slices don't overlap
(if using Cherry tomatoes, place them cut side up to prevent dripping to the lower trays).

Note:
A recommended temperature for drying is between 125°F and 135°F (if you have a verible temperature control unit.)

Drying time for your tomatoes will depend on the thickness/size and can range any where between 5-12 hours.
Tomatoes should be leathery or brittle when fully dried.
